September 5th Meeting Minutes

Members present:  Pat Stearns, Gary Austin, Marc O'Meara, Mark Hollinger, Cheryl Hollinger, Tommy Proulx, Mike Levasseur, Annemarie Gaebel, Jenna Brownson, Brenda Riordan, Steve Bast, Quinn Canfield, Dave Besse, Peter Lloyd and Dave Kiley

Pat Stearns called the meeting to order at 7:38.


September Minutes

The previous meeting's minutes were approved unanimously


Treasurer
 
Park & Rec account: $7k
 
Booster account: $13.5k
 
There is a payment needed of $4600 from park and rec to Mass Youth Soccer
 

In Town Report
 
IN TOWN (ACADEMY)
 
Pee Wee –8 teams of either 5 or 6 players.  48 children playing and all coaches are all set
 
U6 – 6 teams of either 7 or 8 players.  43 children playing and all coaches are all set
 
U7 - 6 teams of either 9 or 10 players.  56 children playing and all coaches are all set          
 
U8 - 6 teams of either 8 or 9 players.  50 children playing and all coaches are all set
 

Travel Report
 
Total travel registration without is 235 participants.  There were 4 late registrants and all were able to be placed on teams

Girls - 133
           
 
Registrar
 
Mark was able to place all late registrants for the fall season.
 
All medical rosters have been sent out to the coaches.
 

Equipment

One travel coach still needs their soccer bag, all other coaches are set.  The nets will be checked over the first week of September and be ready for the season
 
 
Referees
 
There are 18 or 19 referees in travel.   There are 18 in town referees 10 of which are returning refs and 8 new refs.  There are not in town games to accommodate all the referees so new referees will work with experienced refs and in town ref coordinator before receiving their first official game.

 
NVYSL
 
There are field conflicts with the GU12 schedule due to another town’s late registration and the addition of a team
 

Snack Shack

Travel coaches need to send a list of parent volunteers who are working the snack shack each week to Cheryl Hollinger


Player Development

Pepperell Tournament is Columbus Weekend.  It is a one day tournament and if 5 or more teams register then the price is discounted


New Business

Player fee increase – Starting in the spring of 2013 a new flat fee will be instituted in the amount of $80 per player.  A family cap will be set at $230 a family and there will be a $5 discount after the first child registration.

BEST Soccer – on October 4th for U7 and U8 players and coaches there will be an instructional night from 5-6:30.  The first ½ hour the instructors will work with the coaches and the balance of the time the will be working with the player.  This will be held if we can receive a commitment from at least ½ of the coaches otherwise it will be rescheduled to the spring
